So, as an early treat for Halloween, I'll explain some of my theories for Hotel Transylvania and Nightmare Before Christmas.*SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN EITHER*Due to certain, well written fanfiction, I've adopted the theory that Mavis's mother, Martha,В was once human, and that the bat in the night that bumped into Dracula was her pet bat, Mavis (which would also explain why and how Martha picked the name for her daughter). During the movie and then afterwards, I expressed some of my head canon theories I had about the movie and felt even more theories crawling into my brain when I watched the Tim Burton marathon of 'Corpse Bride' and 'Nightmare Before Christmas' (mostly for the latter). In the spirit of Halloween, I felt to have some personal responsibility to show Gabbie one of my favorite animated movies, Hotel Transylvania.

This terrifying act was also the key event that made humans officially fear monsters and put Hotel Transylvania on the map as a very successful business when the monsters needed now to go into hiding, now more than ever. He now realized that he had brought them a fate worse than death, and Dracula would now have to live with the undead, immortal villagers that had killed his wife.Because of his heinous and terrible act,В Dracula promised himself never to drink human blood ever again and swore himself to drink only blood beaters for the rest of his afterlife. As he held and brought home his dead wife for her burial, he heard something move underneath the rubble it was the dead villagers that he had recently slaughtered. After a while, when the fire went out and the adrenaline rush of killing had died down, Dracula went to the remains of their burned home before he found his wife's half charred body among the ruins. He wanted to carry out his wife's body, but he was too weakened even for that, so he just watched as the house burned, weakly holding his daughter in his arms. Weakened from the fight against the large angry mob, he drained their remaining blood for energy.

With the rest of everyone being monsters, Jack and SallyВ are some of the only closest things to once living humans (Lock, Shock, and Barrel being too young and immatureВ to understand what life was, though their colorations show signs of what appear in rigor mortis during deaths of drowning, frozen, or burned alive, in a way plus, they show the childish quirks of troublemaking and mischief and overall, look like children) it wouldВ make senseВ that they were once human. And when I mean 'were', I imply as in they were both once alive.These theories are shown in various points of the film, Jack quoting many times in the film that he had a longing for something inside of him anytime he thought of Christmas or an emptiness that couldn't be filled, Sally even relating with when she sympathizes with his emptiness (most would think of that as needing someone to complete them, but I think of it as them also understanding what Christmas was before they died, but still couldn't remember what it was).В I believe both Jack and Sally have had this, being that they have certain mannerisms that could parallel to their past lives. Also, why would a neat-freak vampire like Drac, with a vampiric sensitive nose mind you, sleep in a dust-filled room? That being said, it implies that the room wasn't necessarily the Count's, as it was more likely a shrine to his dead wife, Martha, the portion of the painting of the two of them only showing Martha before the Count unveiled the full painting.In this movie, I have seen many TV trope theories, but the ones I devised were of my own thoughts about what Jack and Sally were like. If you look closely, it has dust particles all over the coffin and around it В for that to be a frequently used bed, it is physically impossible for it to be covered with that much dust without at least a couple of fingerprints. Dracula brought his wife home to bury? How do you know that? Well, when Dracula took Johnny to the dusty room with the couple's portrait, Dracula neither claimed nor denied that the coffin Johnny saw was his.

It hit me.In a TV trope that was discussing the ability of Jack and Sally having children, it mentioned that Sally might have been built to be a companion for Dr. So I thought to myself, 'Okay, now I know how she died (committing suicide), but why did she die?' In most suicides, a bad experience, an unhappy home/school life or depressionВ is what causes one to commit it, so I assumed it might've been an abusive relationship (Sally falling off the of the tower representing her falls in life but always managing to pick herself back up again). As if she had done it before. I never really depicted how she died until I rewatched the scene where she was escaping from Finklestein's to cheer up Jack when he was experimenting she jumped off of that balcony with a lot of ease.
